Why WV?

Dr. George was born and raised in WV. She is an alumni of WVU (B.ED.). After living, working, and studying abroad for 20 years, she felt a deep calling to return to her wild and wonderful roots to be a part of the phenomenal community of educators and healers helping advance the welfare of her home state.

West Virginia is beautiful, and so are its people. And yet, we are among the most health challenged in the country. There are many reasons for this. There are also many solutions. The Lotus Way hopes to be a part of the healing of this beautiful part of the world through our services.

West Virginia has the highest rate of fatal opioid overdoses among U.S. states

Drug overdose deaths accelerated during COVID-19; Among states, West Virginia has the highest number of overdose deaths per 100,000 people. In WV: 61 per 100,000 people fatally overdosed in the 12-month period, compared to 49 per 100,000 people a year earlier.

West Virginia ranks 1st highest in the nation for the prevalence of poor physical health, poor mental health, and activity limitations due to poor physical or mental health.
